Could The Door Be Closing? by Danny Laws
Many people have asked, “Pastor could this be the end time”? Think about the spiritual condition of our world for a moment. It is evident that this is a world wide event. What a great opportunity for someone to step on the world scene and resolve all the problems associated with this virus. Someone with the medical, political, and financial answer to bring the world together. Yes, you’re correct, it sounds like the Antichrist.
If you will remember the teaching of Matthew twenty-five, there were five wise virgins and five unwise. The five who were wise had oil for their lamps, while the five unwise had none. The “oil” being a symbol of the Holy Spirit was evident in the five who were wise. When the bridegroom came the five unwise had gone to get oil because they had failed to listen to the wise. While they were gone the groom came and they were too late. The scripture says, “the door was shut” and they cried Lord, Lord, open to us”, to which the bridegroom replied, “I know you not” (verses 10-12).
The church has pleaded for generations for people to give their hearts and lives to Christ, yet many still reject the message of the Bible, and despise the church. Now many places of worship have been hindered by this virus, therefore, limiting people the opportunity to hear the gospel.
Let me remind us that 1 Thessalonians chapter five tells us that the coming of the Lord will be like a “thief in the night” or like that of a “woman with labor pains”, teaching us the suddenness of Christ’s return for the church. This corona virus has swept across the world suddenly with little warning. Christians remember that we have seen our world shake her fist in the face of God, by aborting billions of babies, disrespecting God’s plan for marriage and the family, political division in our country, and so many other ways we have departed the Living God. The question is, Will we continue to live in darkness?
Let me challenge Christians to pray, confess your sins, and keep yourself unspotted from the world. To those who are not Christians, I believe with all my heart that the door of opportunity to be saved could be closing soon. Please turn to Jesus before it is eternally too late.
